Greece, Serbia to Agree on E-Vaccination Certificate Scheme for Travelers

Greek Tourism Minister Harry Theoharis and his Serbian counterpart, Tatjana Matic, during an online meeting on Tuesday, agreed to sign a joint memorandum of understanding in the field of tourism and on conditions for travel this summer, in the post-Covid-19 era.

The memorandum will define conditions for the entry of passengers from Serbia to Greece and from Greece to Serbia, in the period from May 1 to October 1, an announcement by the Government of the Republic of Serbia said.

The tourism ministers of Greece and Serbia agreed that the memorandum would foresee a mutual recognition of electronic Covid-19 vaccination certificates for travel between the two countries.

“This will allow entry to vaccinated citizens of both countries, whereas a negative PCR test or antigen test will be obligatory for the unvaccinated citizens. Also, random rapid tests will be done at the border,” Serbian Tourism Minister Tatjana Matic said in the announcement.
