Greek Tourism Minister Harry Theoharis will visit Berlin on Tuesday, May 4, aiming to boost the tourist flow from Germany to Greece in view of the country’s opening to tourism in two weeks.

The Greek minister’s schedule will include a series of meetings with German government officials and representatives of the country’s tourism market.

According to his schedule, Theoharis will meet with the country’s deputy minister of economy and energy, responsible for tourism, Thomas Bareiß, and then with TUI representatives, Sebastian Ebel, member of the Executive Board and Thomas Ellerbeck, member of the Executive Committee.

The Greek tourism minister will then visit the headquarters of the German Travel Association (DRV) and hold talks with its president, Norbert Fiebig; CEO, Dirk Inger; and Director of Policy and Foreign Tourism; Volker Adams.

Germany is one of the most important tourism markets for Greece. In 2019, arrivals of German tourists amounted to 4 million, with corresponding tourism revenue exceeding 3 billion euros.

After his visit to Germany, on Wednesday, May 5, Theoharis will travel to Poland.

It is reminded that Greece is officially opening to tourists in mid-May with no quarantine requirement for vaccinated travelers or those with a negative PCR test.
