Greek health experts have agreed for high schools in Greece to re-open on April 12, under strict guidelines and Covid-19 measures.

Speaking during Wednesday’s Covid-19 media briefing, Greek Education Minister Niki Kerameos said that classes will resume in high schools under strict health and safety measures for the well-being of returning students and educators.

Measures include mandatory mask wearing in all areas of school grounds by students and teachers and different recess times for classes.

Two negative self-test results per week (every Monday and Thursday) will be mandatory for students and teachers to attend classes, according to the minister.

Free Covid-19 self-test kits have been available at pharmacies in Greece for students and teachers (AMKA and ID card are required).

The next group of citizens to receive Covid-19 self-test kits will be those aged 18 to 67 and people from 68 and over will follow.

Greece’s Covid-19 self-testing strategy is aimed at detecting asymptomatic coronavirus cases.
