SKY express Adds Flights to Paris and London from Athens

Greek airline SKY express on Thursday announced the addition of two new destinations to its international network, aiming to contribute to Greece’s tourism development.

Following the launch of its international flights to Larnaca and Brussels, SKY express will operate a new connection from Athens to Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris as of June 5 and begin flights from the Greek capital to London Heathrow from August 1.

“We are aiming to establish Greece as a 12-month destination. The tourism season that has begun finds SKY express more than ready to contribute to boosting the economy and tourism,” said Vasiliki Christidi, Group General Manager of Aviareps. SKY express is part of the Aviareps Group headed by Greek entrepreneur Yiannis Grylos.

Speaking to journalists during a briefing in one of the airline’s new Airbus A320neo at Athens International Airport (AIA), Christidi informed that SKY express is also planning to launch seasonal flights to destinations abroad – Lyon, Nantes, Hamburg and Dortmund – and this way expand its network to a total of 43 national and international destinations.

On the domestic side, Sky express operates the largest domestic network in the country as it now serves 34 Greek destinations after adding flights to Thessaloniki and Rhodes from Athens and announcing a new route connecting Volos (Nea Anchialos National Airport) with Heraklion, Crete, as of June 15.

Investment in a state-of-the-art ‘green’ fleet

Over the next weeks, SKY express will complete the upgrade of its privately-owned fleet with a total of 6 state-of-the-art brand-new Airbus A320neo. The airline on Friday, May 28, will welcome its fifth green aircraft and its sixth in June.

The aerodynamics and the innovative engines chosen by SKY express, ensure even greater reliability, less noise, lower fuel consumption, and greater autonomy.

“With our brand new, state-of-the-art aircraft, passengers may enjoy a unique travel experience to 43 destinations in Greece and abroad, with the number constantly rising. Our goal is to become the favorite choice of the demanding traveler,” Christidi sais, adding that SKY express satisfies the need for reliability and high quality on competitive terms.
